Description: Hawksmoor Guildhall is just a stone’s throw away from what may very well be the world’s first steakhouse which went by the unlikely name of Dolly’s Chop House. If the story to be believed is true, it was given by Queen Anne to her favourite cook, Dorothy as a present. Dorothy first stoked up her grill between 1702 and 1714 and it was frequented regularly by the likes of Fielding, Defoe, Swift, Dryden, Boswell and Pope. Situated in the heart of The City of London, right next to the famous Guildhall, the private dining room boasts a 22-person dining table centred in an elegant wooden panelled private room which pays tribute to the medieval history, making this a unique space for a variety of events.
