Maggies - Chelsea, London

Maggie's is a commendably kitschy Fulham Road nightclub that has been offering Sloane Rangers an easy and appealing option since it launched in 2010. Opened by the team behind Barts, Maggie's employs everything you've forgotten (or would like to forget) from the 1980s to create a unique and eccentric space that relies heavily on the nostalgia (and the cheesiness therein!).  They resurrect Thatcher's decade with recordings of her speeches looped in the loos, Rubix cube tables, Beano comic wallpaper and generous helpings of zebra print and cartoon graffiti splashed throughout the large venue. The bartenders have been known to channel their inner Tom Cruise with Cocktail-style bar tricks and you'll hear a lot of songs from that film as well, from cock-rock Guns 'n Roses numbers to the Human League, the DJs at Maggie's specialise in all things eighties! There's a nibbles menu available if you arrive early enough but be warned, it also draws its inspiration from the decadent decade. When it comes to fun, Maggie's is not for the conservative.
