Following the success of the inaugural artist-conceived restaurant which featured the work of Martin Creed, the Gallery at sketch has been transformed to convey the vision of internationally acclaimed, multidisciplinary artist David Shrigley for the second time. Turner prize nominated and Fourth Plinth commissioned Shrigley has replaced his 239 monochromatic sketches with 91 colourful works.

The space, created by architect India Mahdavi, is simultaneously inviting, subversive and playful; bathed in pepto-bismol pink with bronze table lamps and a classic Art Deco layout. Shrigley's works on the wall exhibit a mordant wit and foster interactions with neighbouring diners; gazes tend to interlock whilst scanning the walls. Even the salt and pepper shakers subvert expectations, with one labelled Dirt, another Dust, and the third labelled Nothing. The menu, spring-loaded with paper cutlery in the fashion of a children's pop-up book, does a fine job complementing the artwork adorning the walls.

Head chef Pierre Gagnaire has always been heralded as a visionary and has created dishes as engaging as any in the capital. Starters are elegantly conceived. Of the current menu, we heartily recommend the salpicon of scallops marinated in lime, Patron tequila, coriander, sweetcorn and avocado as well as the selection of smoked fish, with salmon, haddock, eel, organic salmon eggs, horseradish and red radishes. For mains, try the poached seabass with Parmesan cream an cuttlesfish; the Lobster "Turner" with sweet potato and passionfruit puree; or grilled rack of lamb with matchstick potatoes, aubergine caviar, lamb stew and basmati rice with dried fruits. And no visi would be complete without the tiramisu.

Additionally, sketch features multiple dining areas, each one offering a sophisticated and unique haven within which to enjoy delectable dishes. Alongside the Gallery, the 2 Michelin-starred and 5 AA Rosette award-winning Lecture Room & Library offers a stunning gastronomic experience, whilst The Glade offers the ambience of an enchanted fairy tale forest serving nibbles followed by cocktails at night. The Parlour presents a quirky alternative, with Louis XV seating throughout, and serves breakfast and brunch until 6pm when the cocktails come out and the Parlour becomes a bar until close at 2am.
