Mr Fogg's House of Botanicals - Fitzrovia, London

Only five years ago, Mr Fogg's opened its doors to Mayfair - inviting in drinkers to marvel at wonders gleaned from all corners of the world whilst sipping some of the capital's finest concoctions. Now, the globetrotting Victorians have expanded to Fitzrovia, taken over two floors on Newman Street and packed it to the rafters with strange and exotic plants. Straight out of Around the World in Eighty Days, the gin palace has been given the apt moniker Mr Fogg's House of Botanicals.

The interiors are nothing short of mesmerising. The first floor is walk-in with a bar in the rear, and island of seating and a white helical staircase disappearing into the ceiling. Upstairs is just as light and airy with a touch of quirky formality. Paintings of curious figures in traditional 19^th century attire line the walls. Most noticeably, the entire bar is veiled in greenery with hanging ivy and Amazonian shrubs that change with the seasons, lending some impact to the title.

Similarly, cocktails borrow inspiration from the natural world. Choose from selections like the Flight of the Hummingbird', a blend of Bacardi Carta Blanca, Aperol, raspberry, spiced pineapple, celery, citrus, and egg white as well as the 'Cherry Blossom', a mix of Star of Bombay gin, Evangelista Ratafia, almond, pineapple, falernum, lime and Sakura tea foam. There's additionally a small bites menu with selections such as smoked trout served with cucumber salad, juniper berry sour cream and spiced soda bread or honey crumpets, topped with whipped honey butter and rosemary honeycomb.
