In January 2012, the team behind South Ken's award winning L'etranger, unveiled Meursault at l'etranger, a bar and 40-cover dining room right below the original on Gloucester Road. Inspired by the main character of L'Etranger (the novel written by French existentialist and Nobel Prize winner Albert Camus), Meursault is a younger and more spirited companion complementing its critically acclaimed sister restaurant. Open daily from 5pm it offers a relaxed environment for aperitifs, post dinner desserts, a late night tipple or complete culinary experience if you prefer. The flexible menu with French and Japanese influences features plenty of sharing plates and over 40 desserts! There are also molecular cocktails, sake and an extensive wine list. Inspired by the Belle Époque, the decadent and elegant interior features natural stone, glass, leather and marble detail, and an intricately designed ceiling incorporating 18,000 LED lights, by award-winning illustrator Noumeda Carbone.
