St Martin's Lane hotel has bid farewell to the Light Bar in favour of something, well, a little more dark. Their brand spanking new cocktail bar, Blind Spot, is a much more moody and desultory proposition. Walking in from the tea counter through a hidden door, there's an intense juxtaposition in atmosphere. Low slung seating has been spread around the room, which has been given a black and gold colour palette with high bpm tunes piped over the speaker system. The dimly lit ambience is nothing less than seductive - ideally suited for a date night. 

On our visit we had the opportunity to try a number of cocktails mixed by Andrew Loudon. Our waitress, who looked not dissimilar from a young Renee Zellweger, asked us what our drink preferences were and then matched them up with menu options. Blind Spot cocktail bar travels from harbour to harbour and gathers the world flavours into its new menu. From NYC to Sydney, through Venice, Mumbai, Osaka and many more, with guests invited to spin the globe and choose from theirselection of 25 destinations. You can opt to air the carefully crafted drinks with nibbles from the same regions for the ultimate transport to an exotic destination.
