The Hari hotel is quite a gem. Nestled in the heart of Belgravia amongst sweeping crescents and stucco mansions on Chesham Place, The Hari occupies pride of place next to the abodes of famous poets, dignitaries and musicians in one of London's most discreet, leafy and quintessentially British neighbourhoods. Comprising of 157 rooms, 16 suites and an ultra-luxurious two-floor penthouse named Suite Me, The Hari is guaranteed to satisfy the most exacting of travellers.

The Harilela family, who have owned hotels globally and devoted their time to this business for over half a century, have produced another cultural legacy. As the group's first-ever brand, The Hari is built around the quest to refine the life experiences of guests seeking deeper and more nuanced paths to their global travels. The interiors are deliciously appointed and fuse contemporary detailing with classic traditions. It's a stark and stylish building with a monochrome colour palette and many juxtapositions between dark and light spaces.

After a long week at work, checking into a King Studio Suite on a Friday evening was a soothing balm. The room was outfitted with imported linens, Noble Isle bath products, a velvet sofa, which fit snugly into the bay window, a Nespresso machine ready for the morning, a small mountain of glossies as well as fresh robes and slippers laid out. Each one of its 44 square metres seemed perfectly suited for pampering.

For those who are less lazy and more intrepid than us, the library bar and adjoining garden terrace offer expertly prepared cocktails and a cigar humidor. Il Pampero restaurant, led by acclaimed chef Claudio Covino, aims to mix hotel guests with West London locals by means of irresistible aperitifs and haute-Italian specialties. And for the less indulgent, there's a gym, business and secretarial services and preferential rates at Grace Belgravia.
