Scott's - Mayfair, London

Scott's was first conceived in Haymarket in 1851, transplanted to Mount Street in 1963 and revitalised by Richard Caring's Caprice Holdings Group nearly fifteen years ago. It still manages to hold sway as one of Mayfair's societal landmarks, wooing young and old alike, particularly those with double-barrelled surnames and winsome wallets. The fine dining fare of choice at Scott's is seafood, around which the entire menu and restaurant revolves - as the room is built around a huge and lavish oyster bar surrounded by dark wood walls, lots of mirrors and modern art. The menu cleaves to the ocean's choicest offerings, with molluscs, crustacea and caviar all well-represented. After summiting a towering construction of fruits de mer, tuck into an incredible main such as halibut on the bone, Dover sole meunière or lobster Thermidor.
