Little Social - Mayfair, London

There seems to be a battle of the brasseries taking place in the West End with Balthazar and Brasserie Chavot opening, and now Little Social. Following Pollen Street Social's rampant success (it won a Michelin star in its first year), Jason Atherton is opening a laidback neighbourhood brasserie right across the street from its elder sibling on the site that formerly housed 5 Pollen Street. The dining room summons the esprit de France with ox-blood leather banquettes, hardwood chairs, Parisian tables and period picture frames, while the menu does the same with sumptuous comfort food like slow cooked egg with parmesan and squash soup, roast mushrooms and croutons as well as goat's milk rice pudding with rhubarb and ginger jam.
