La Petite Maison - Mayfair, London

Le Petite Maison has garnered rave fanfare for its sumptuous Ligurian cuisine since it opened and the applause doesn't look as if it's going to fade away anytime soon. Younger sister to one of Nice's most famous restaurants, Mayfair's LPM hits all of the pleasure points with homely cooking elevated to an art. Crisp, airy whites and bottles of olive oil on each table recall the restaurant's Mediterranean heritage, and the dishes could have you considering a move to the Riviera! Critics across the capital have lauded the whole roast black leg chicken with foie gras, served with a rich crouton to mop up the garlicky juices. However, dishes such as the salade Niçoise, the macaroni with summer truffles and veal chop have received widespread, if attenuated, attention. There are a wide variety of wines with which to wash down the meal, many of them from the Provençal region.
