There's been a lot going on in Chelsea of late and Caramel is the newest restaurant to create a stir. With sibling venues in Muscat, Abu Dhabi and Dubai, it's already proven popular with the middle eastern crowd, bringing a bit of bling to west London. On the menu you'll find top-shelf drinks and excellent American cuisine, with a vibe that is distinctly clubby with a throbbing electronic soundtrack.

With a dining room from Bishop Design, all of the stops have been pulled out to create an eminently luxurious domain. Nodding to classic art deco accents, the dark and sultry atmosphere aims to seduce. The piece de resistance of the room are the hexagonal booths draped with golden silk and the adjoining bar which similarly boasts honeycomb patterns. There's a plethora of internationally sourced backlist onyx trims, marbled surfaces and oak wood panelling, which boasts a tremendous collection of visually arresting pop art. All within walking distance of Harrods.

Chef Sunil Vaz is a dab hand in the kitchens and has created a menu to rival NYC hotspots. Dishes were aggressively delicious: mac & cheese fingers were fried crisp and served with truffle sauce and a three-cheese dipping sauce; piquant chicken lollipops were served with a cooling blue cheese sauce; lobster and grilled mango tacos were complemented with avocado cream and coriander. There's a slider menu - we tried with caramelised shortrib option with aged cheddar. Our favourite dish of the evening was the miso glazed black cod bites with pickled daikon, carrot and crisp kaitafi filo - light yet vividly flavourful. For dessert we enjoyed with caramel and pecan cheesecake and the upside-down date pudding.
