Petrus has been a London institution since its inception, at one point overseen by Marcus Wareing and transplanted from the Berkeley Hotel to the Royal Hospital Road, in spite of its rather tumultuous history it has held tight to the critical acclaim that marks it as one of London's best - singled out by the Michelin Guide. The dining room is redolent of opulence (and delicious food) and features luxurious pile carpeting and a futuristic floor-to-ceiling column of wine featuring some incredibly dear vintages, such as the eponymous claret! The Modern European menus are constantly on the move but are defined by fresh, seasonal food of exceptional quality prepared with a master's hand. Offerings run the range from pressed foie gras and veal with crispy sweetbread and a fennel vanilla caramel to roasted lobster tail with baby leeks, trompette mushrooms, lemon and a vanilla sauce to the famous chocolate sphere with milk ice cream and honeycomb. Experience what the world's most well-known chef does best at Petrus.
