Situated on the corner of Aldwych, ME Hotel is in the heart of London's theatreland and in the midst of its cultural history. This is a great starting point to say the least. The hotel channels the personality and dramatization of the surrounding theatres by standing centre stage of its fellow buildings. Only a short walk from Charing Cross, the hotel offers a collection of 157 rooms, including 16 suites, and the ultra-luxurious Suite ME.

Nigel Dancey and Giles Robinson are behind Foster & Partners, the designers responsible for the entirety of the hotel. Stepping away from their traditional designs, the hotel was the first of its kind and it's certainly an innovative and unique experience throughout. Walking through the entrance, the main lobby is suffused with contemporary detailing and a dramatic monochrome palette.

The main reception area is located on the first floor where we were greeted with a glass of champagne. The reception area itself is an impressive architectural design boasting a 100-foot-high hollow white marble pyramid with a strong beam of natural light reflecting off the three walls. As we were escorted to our rooms we were then involved in the yin and yang experience of the hotel; hallways are windowless and enclosed to the brightly lit and airy bedrooms, which makes for an intense juxtaposition.

Our room was filled with an abundance of light, mainly from the floor length triangular shaped window at the far-end of the room. This replaced having a balcony but it is large enough to give you an ample view of your surroundings. We had the pleasure of staying in the Mode Room which had everything we required, from a mini-bar bursting with treats to a luxurious and heavenly feather bed. After enjoying our welcome drink, we continued the light and dark journey to the renowned Radio Rooftop bar.

The perks of this hotel are not isolated to the ones mentioned so far. It's home to the magnificent rooftop bar located on the 10th floor serving Tapas Con Vistas alongside their recently introduced weekend brunch menu. If that's not impressive enough, relax and indulge in the extensive list of cocktails and enjoy the breathtaking views. Luckily enough for guests with a large appetite, they can head down to STK on the ground floor for an outrageously tasty steak dinner. A night of wining and dining is made all the sweeter with a luxurious hideaway to go back to as the night comes to an end. I think it's fair to say, the hotel is a far cry from stuffy and is certainly the perfect city-centre retreat for those on business or leisure.
