Head Chef Tom Sellers' colourful past is perhaps the inspiration for his new eatery's moniker: Restaurant Story. After leaving school at 16 to work in a pub kitchen, he soon after upped sticks to London where he learned the nuances of the trade from Tom Aikens, before becoming indispensable to Thomas Keller at Per Se and Rene Redzepi at NOMA. Sellers created quite a stir with his pop-up resto Foreword, and has done the same with Story, located in what was formerly a Victorian toilet block under the shadow of Tower Bridge, by serving innovative, mind-bending British fare that defies expectations; such as Bread and Dripping, a Gothic-style candle that, when incandescent, melts into sumptuous pools of beef dripping. The Half Story £75 (around 6-7 courses) and The Full Story £95 (around 9-10 courses). Bookings are tricky, it's recommended that you do it ahead of time.
