Innerplace Wine Tasting Event in association with WineChap, 24th February at The Landau, W1

We all know that there’s more to becoming a wine buff than working your way through every half price bottle in Sainsbury’s… So if you are interested in finding out more about wine, then you’ll be glad to hear that we’ve teamed up with the clued up, friendly team at WineChap to host our first Innerplace Wine Tasting Event.

The evening will take place from 6.30-8.30pm on Wednesday 24th February in Postillion, The Landau’s beautiful private dining room at The Langham, London.

WineChap is a very handy online wine resource which, amongst other things, reviews restaurants’ wine lists and provides recommendations for all budgets; feel free to read more at www.winechap.com. You can register with the website for free so we definitely recommend signing up. You will probably be hearing more about WineChap from us in the coming months as we hope to be working with them more… they are the experts… we just try our best with the consumption!

The wine tasting evening will be their Vintellect-List Tips session, which is described as, ‘a mildly irreverent but highly practical session teaching you how to navigate around restaurants’ wine menus’. We thought that would be perfect for Innerplace members who want to know more about what to order in the fine restaurants we send you to… or at the very least so you look like you do!

WineChap tastings are designed to be fun and lively and are guaranteed not to be dull or preachy. Seven wines will be provided (with retail prices from £12 to £30) include a sparkling wine and two very good Bordeaux’s. The price for this informative and entertaining evening is £35 per person including all the wines. It will be an intimate affair for about 25 members so it should also be a great way to mingle with other members.

The sophisticated surroundings of Postillion will provide the backdrop, along with The Landau’s vaulted wine corridor which houses its collection of over 1400 wines and hosts views of BBC Broadcasting House and All Souls Church.

You can of course always extend the evening by taking drinks in the Langham’s extremely cool Artisan Bar or dining in the stunning Landau restaurant, where you would receive a complimentary glass of champagne per dining guest.

In recent times we’ve had several requests to host some more intimate soirees in addition to our full members’ parties so this wine tasting should be the first of many such events. There will be more wine tastings as well as whiskey tastings, cocktail making master-classes and possibly even dinners. I bet you can’t wait!

BRIT Awards Party - Lindsay Lohan at Altitude

Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan hosts Altitude London’s exclusive BRIT Awards Celebration next Tuesday 16th February and Innerplace members are invited! It should be a star studded affair and, with all proceeds going to the Red Cross in aid of Haiti, so it’s for a great cause too.

Altitude London’s two new event spaces, situated in the Millbank Tower, Westminster, will certainly come into play here with the Cinema & Media Centre screening the BRIT Awards live between 8pm – 11pm on its world class, state-of-the-art facilities. That will be followed by a special after party featuring a charity auction and entertainment, taking place in the newly opened River Room overlooking the Thames from 11pm – 2am.

Prizes up for grabs include First Class flights to LA plus a week at the Pensinula Hotel and a night out with Lindsay Lohan, Sunday Brunch for four at The River Room, and the ultimate cinema experience at the Millbank Cinema & Media Centre for the winner + 400 friends!

Love Never Dies at the Adelphi Theatre, WC2: VIP packages available

If you’re a Phantom fan then you will probably be very excited about Love Never Dies, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s long awaited sequel, which opens on 9th March 2010 at the Adelphi Theatre.  Picking up the story ten years after the mysterious disappearance of The Phantom from the Paris Opera House, the show is described as ‘a rollercoaster ride of obsession and intrigue’, and is set to be one of the hottest tickets of the year. London news and launches

Luxx launches in London
Opening on 23rd February Luxx is a new boutique club being brought to London by Luca Maggiora, previously of the Maddox Club. Located on Mayfair’s New Burlington Street, the 200-capacity venue is described as a non-members’ club but guests ‘will have to be invited’ in order to attend. The club will feature a glass runway, black lacquer walls and a private garden. More details will follow soon.

Home House gets the Candy treatment
The 21 Portman Square side of Home House, is currently being renovated by Candy and Candy. The last eighteen months has seen Home House undergo many changes with the opening of this extended adjoining space featuring a bar designed by Zaha Hadid and a ‘Method Spa’. The re-vamped club is the first that the Candy brothers have ever designed and features a bar and two lounge spaces with state of the art sound systems. We’ll have more on this in the coming weeks.

Pollen blossoms in Mayfair
Due to open mid February in Mayfair’s Pollen Street, Pollen is a new Northern Italian restaurant. The compact, stylish diner is being launched by Livio Bisterzo (from Maddox Club fame). Stefano Stecca (formerly of Brunello) will be in charge of the kitchen and the general manager will be Eugenio Rolfo, formerly of Harry's Bar.
