4th February 2010

Hi ,

This week we’re inviting you to a members’ party at the newly refurbished and highly exclusive Morton’s club on Berkeley Square and offering complimentary cocktails at new boutique hotel The Arch. There are also some suggestions for making the most of Valentine’s Day including special romantic dinners and club nights…

Innerplace Members’ Party: 11th February at Morton’s, Berkeley Square W1

If the thought of another shot of wheatgrass leaves you feeling green around the gills, then we have the perfect excuse to ditch the new year detox – a stylish, intimate members’ party at the recently re-opened Morton’s in Berkeley Square. Morton’s is one of London’s genuinely exclusive members clubs, and after undergoing an extensive refurbishment and rejuvenation, is now even more desirable.

Thanks to London based architects Virgile & Stone the Grade I listed Georgian building now effortlessly blends the classic with the contemporary. Artworks by Julian Opie, Matisse and Gary Hume adorn the walls throughout, and in the impressive new Night Lounge basement club there’s a responsive light installation, which transforms according to the music tempo. The main bar on the ground floor has been remodeled, there is a beautiful dining room overlooking the Square (serving a Mediterranean inspired menu) and also a members’ club room on the top floor. Morton’s is also renowned for its superbly stocked wine cellar and sublime cocktails. (As part of the Marc Group who also owns the Greenhouse and Umu you would expect nothing less!)

We are delighted to be able to offer Innerplace Members the chance to experience the new Morton’s at our Members’ Party next Thursday 11th February. It will take place in the Night Lounge and as this is such an exclusive venue, it will be an intimate affair for just 100 Innerplace members and guests.

There will be drinks and canapés from 8-10pm and the party will continue into the night as usual. The Night Lounge normally operates on a table/bottle service basis (although with no minimum spends) so it will be mostly bottle service later in the evening. Therefore as priority will be given to those members booking a table for later (no minimum spend). Small tables are also available.

As numbers are limited, we are allowing up to two guests per Innerplace Member without a table. Well dressed, mixed groups are essential of course. If you would like to join us for this exclusive event please contact us at info@innerplace.co.uk . The guest list will be on a first come first served basis.

Innerplace Red Members receive limited access to Morton’s. We can also propose any members for Morton’s membership and arrange a viewing, please just contact us.

The Arch London Hotel, Great Cumberland Place, W1: Complimentary cocktails while dining and reduced room rate for members

Spending a weekend in a London hotel is a chic, cosmopolitan alternative to a weekend in the country. If you want to try it out for yourself, then new hotel The Arch London is the perfect place to do it.  Officially launched just last week and situated near Marble Arch and Hyde Park (close to Selfridges, the boutiques of Bond Street and erm, Primark) this fashionable newcomer epitomises London townhouse living. Set within seven Georgian Grade II listed buildings and two mews houses, the boutique hotel has 82 elegant, individually styled bedrooms as well as a very slick and funky bar and restaurant, HUNter 486 (which was the old school district dialing code for Marylebone).

Alistair Burgess, formerly of New York’s Pegu Club, is head barman at Hunter 486 and this certainly shows in their excellent cocktail list. Signatures include the Flight of Fancy made with vanilla infused rum, port, citrus and lavender bitters. Chef Shane Pearson creates a modern British cuisine in the open plan kitchen, complete with a wood fired oven – dishes include steak tartare with quails egg and chips. Le Salon de Champagne at HUNter 486 is a glamorous little enclave, they also have a lovely Martini Library serving cocktails and afternoon tea, and intriguing works of art throughout the hotel, most of which was specifically commissioned by London’s top up and coming artists. Whist the rooms and suites are stunning they aren’t quite as eye wateringly expensive as many Central London retreats.

Innerplace members now receive a complimentary cocktail per dining guest at Hunter 486 when booking through us.

They have a special Opening Rate of £195 including Full English Breakfast (ex VAT), for stays until 6th April, after which date special rates for Innerplace Members will be introduced.

Valentine’s Day 2010

Here are some great ideas to help you plan your Valentine’s Day… whatever your current relationship status! Don’t leave it too late as the best places will get booked up relatively quickly.

Valentine’s Day Dining at The Gherkin, EC3: Table bookings for members on Sunday 14th February

If you want to knock the socks off that special someone this Valentine’s Day (or possibly more if you’re lucky!) then The Gherkin is a very safe bet. Standing at 180m and enjoying breathtaking 360 degree views across the glittering city, this is probably the most romantic setting in London. The top two floors of the building are occupied by a bar and restaurant, both of which are usually accessible solely to tenants of the building (or our members can book for private dining). However, all Innerplace members are being invited to dine at The Gherkin on Sunday 14th February. You can choose between the following options:

Restaurant - Valentine’s Lunch: Three courses - £45 per person

Restaurant - Valentine’s Dinner: Valentine’s cocktail on arrival and five course
tasting menu with matching wines - £150 per person. (The tasting menu includes dishes such as Beef Wellington with truffle jus and assiette of raspberry desserts.)

Bar - Valentine’s Canapés: Valentine’s cocktail on arrival and a selection of canapés - £59

Bar - Valentine’s Canapés Champagne: Valentine’s cocktail on arrival, a selection of canapés and a bottle of champagne - £99

The Battery, Canary Wharf, E14: Valentine’s Day Menu

A restaurant with a fabulous view is always going to be ultra desirable in London, which is why there’s currently such a buzz surrounding The Battery in Canary Wharf. The restaurant opened before Christmas but officially launches this week. We’ll have more information on The Battery in the coming weeks but in a nutshell, it’s a sleek Modern European restaurant with floor to ceiling windows offering incredible panoramic views across Canary Wharf to the City.

Head chef Minesh Patel has created a special menu for Valentine’s Day. Priced at £75 per head, the five course menu includes luxuries such as oysters and foie gras as well as a sea bass or steak main and some very indulgent desserts. Innerplace Members will also receive a complimentary glass of Champagne on arrival. For more info or to book, email us at info@innerplace.co.uk

If red roses and candlelit dinners aren’t your thing, then this might be right up your street. The Kingly Club is hosting The Anti Valentines Party – Lust on Saturday 13th February. The party will be the first in a new series of Seven Sins inspired nights at the club and is being hosted in association with Ma Mignonnette lingerie, Belvedere Vodka and live performer, Valeria Dragova.

Described as a ‘raunchy, rip roaring party for couples and singles alike’, this is a great option for anyone who just 'doesn't do' Valentine’s. There will be a complimentary 'Lust' cocktail on arrival until 11pm.

Members receive complimentary entry with up to three guests. If you’d like to go, email us at info@innerplace.co.uk

Skylon, South Bank, SE1: Valentines package for 2010.

Guests will be indulging in complimentary champagne and canapés as they are welcomed into the Skylon Restaurant.

From there they will be enjoying a four course menu, beautifully crafted by Executive Chef, Helena Puolakka, whilst gazing across the spectacularly lit London skyline through floor to ceiling windows.

The £85 set menu will be exclusively served in the restaurant with the Skylon Grill and Bar remaining open as normal.

Aura: Valentines week menu

If you want to party the night away but would still like to have a spot of dinner first, it might be worth trying Aura.

Their Valentines week menu is just £35 per head and included a bottle house wine. Dishes include, Sesame tuna sashimi with wasabi cream, Roasted King Prawns with Sweet Red Peppers sauce and Lemon and Strawberry Cheese Cake. Please contact us to book.

Other recommendations for Valentines Day would include the small but lovely La Trouvaille in Soho, the funky but romantic Crazy Bear Members Club and our favourite for live music, Floridita, which has lunch and dinner menus for £35 or £47.50 respectively with a complimentary glass of champagne (for Innerplace Members) and Live Cuban band… For the dinner sitting there’s even a Latin dance class with Yanet Fuentes from the BBC’s “So you think you can dance”! Or you can keep it classy by heading down to the Criterion for one of the most impressive rooms in London that won’t blow the budget!

COMO ‘Month of Seduction’ at The Metropolitan, W1 and The Halkin, SW1

Continuing the theme… In honor of Valentine’s Day, the COMO Group is hosting a ‘Month of Seduction’ at both their London hotels, The Metropolitan in W1 and The Halkin in SW1.

The Metropolitan is offering a special room package which includes a ‘seduction box’ and a champagne breakfast for two (from £399 including VAT) along with a special Valentine’s version of their famous Afternoon De-Light Tea! The sleek COMO Shambala Spa is offering romantic couples massages on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th February.

At the Met’s sister hotel The Halkin, there’ll be a special £69 per person Valentine’s Menu at Nahm (the only Michelin starred Thai restaurant in London!) The menu includes a glass of pink champagne per diner. Guests dining at Nahm on February 14th can book a room for the reduced rate of £175 + VAT (room only).
