| Hi ,
This week we’re embracing dining with a twist! We have complimentary champagne at the amazing new restaurant Circus as well as tickets to see Elton John live at the Butterfly Ball. We also have some great value dining offers at Kenza and new Saturday guest list at Kanaloa…
Circus, Covent Garden, WC2: complimentary champagne while dining
London’s restaurant scene appears to be in the grip of a daring, decadent phase. Last week we announced our new deal with Supperclub, the ‘in bed’ dining club with avant garde live shows. Now we are delighted to introduce you to Circus, another alluring new bar, restaurant and entertainment hotspot, where guests are treated to extravagant, flamboyant live performances whilst dining.
Located on Endell Street in Covent Garden, the venue hides inconspicuously behind a blacked out entrance, and with no obvious sign on the door it’s not easily accessible to passers-by making it feel very secret and exclusive. Designed by iconic British designer Tom Dixon, Circus looks every inch the A list destination. Taking its cue from the Surrealist art movement, Circus combines 20th century design classics with quirky touches such as a specially commissioned table, which doubles up as a stage, a bespoke dancer’s pole (if you’re feeling brave after a few cocktails) and a circus ring that hangs above the diners on the main table. There are also satellite tables around the side for more privacy.
In the kitchen, chef Nik Biok (previously of Gaucho) whisks up a menu of Pan-American dishes, inspired by his travels across North America. Many of the dishes have been designed for sharing. Henry Besant and the Worldwide Cocktail Club (the team behind the Bungalow 8 bar) have created the cocktail list and in keeping with the kitchen. The service generally is spot on and very friendly.
The live entertainment is what makes Circus something very special. Full details of the forthcoming acts are being kept under wraps but these promise to be ‘inviting, surprising, obscure, strange, beautiful and guaranteed to entertain.’ The specially commissioned main table is transformed into a stage after dinner. You have the opportunity to join in and become part of the entertainment (but only if you want to.)
Circus is without doubt going to be one of the most talked about openings of 2010 and is already attracting a stylish crowd and some celebrity fans, including Matthew Williamson, Seb Chew and David de Rothschild.
Innerplace members now receive a complimentary glass of champagne per dining guest when booking through us. For more info or to book, email info@innerplace.co.uk
Archant London Butterfly Ball in aid of Caudwell Children’s Charity, 20th May, Battersea, SW11 with live performance by Elton John: tickets and tables available
Founded in 2000 by entrepreneur John Caudwell, the Caudwell Children’s Charity has so far raised more then £10 million with every penny raised going to sick or disabled children and their families. Every year the charity holds a high profile black tie event called The Butterfly Ball with a gourmet dinner and star studded entertainment. In previous years, acts have included Rod Stewart, Tina Turner and Whitney Houston and for this year’s ball, on Thursday 20th May, Elton John has been confirmed as the headline act!
The ball also offers a great excuse for a bit of celebrity-spotting as this event has been attended by stars such as Elizabeth Hurley, Frank Lampard, Boyzone, Joan Collins, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Caprice, Penny Lancaster, Buzz Aldrin and many more.
Last year, an auction raised thousands of pounds, with prizes including a dress donated by Jenny Packham, a signed Michael Jackson platinum disc and a Pablo Picasso lithograph (which sold for £3,000.)
Full details of this year’s ball are yet to be announced but it promises to be a fabulous evening in a great cause. Tickets start from £200+VAT per person and go up to £2,500+VAT per person for a Platinum Table Package including a celeb guest on your table! Boujis, SW7: guest list now available to Innerplace members
If you attended our party at Boujis last week, you must have made a good impression! The powers that be at the club have now kindly offered to allow Innerplace to submit daily guest lists as well as tables. Members now receive free entry with guests to pay. Boujis has just completed an extensive refurbishment and remains one of the most exclusive London clubs so despite our new deal, expect them to be very strict on the door (particularly on Tuesdays and at weekends).
Please send your guest lists to us on info@innerplace.co.uk and remember that looking good and being in mixed groups is absolutely essential! (The door will always have the final discretion over who is allowed in.)
Kenza, EC2: special lunch and dinner offers
If you love the idea of jetting off to exotic Marrakech but can’t spare the time, we think an evening at Kenza is probably the next best thing! Located on Devonshire Square, the restaurant and lounge bar is part of the Levant Group and offers guests the chance to escape into a heady world of incense-scented, lantern-lit bliss. The lavishly decorated space is decked out with plush jewel-coloured fabrics and scattered with fresh rose petals. The food is classy Lebanese and features traditional mezze as well as sharing platters, Arabian sweets and a list of alluring cocktails. From 9pm the lights dim and music is cranked up for a party vibe until 3am. Saturdays usually feature a less City-orientated crowd.
Innerplace members normally receive a complimentary cocktail per dining guest at Kenza (when dining from the a la carte menu) but we wanted to let you know about these current special offers: Lunchtime Bookings: 50% off food from the a la carte menu: Mon – Fri, 11:30-16:00 (Max 5 people) £10.95 Express two course lunch menu: Mon – Fri, 11:30-16:00
Evening Bookings 25% off food and drink: Mon – Wed, 17.00-22.00
These offers can not be used in conjunction with any other promotions. If you would like to book, please let us know.
Kanaloa, Shoe Lane, EC4A: Saturday guest list
Opened late last year Kanaloa is the latest venture from the owners of Mahiki. Modeled on a traditional Polynesian Tiki Bar, the club serves tropical cocktails and island inspired food in a fun, stylish atmosphere. Tom Crane and Sarah Harding are involved with the project and it’s been one of the most talked about openings of the winter. Clubs in the City normally tend to be members clubs like Eight or lower level, cheesy options… so Kanaloa has provided a fabulous alternative.
Kanaloa is now open on Saturday evenings so if you’d like to be added to the guest list or book a table then please let us know. Member receives free entry with guests to pay.
