If you’re in the mood to spend hundred s of pounds on delicious cocktails with the most glamorous set in the smoke, Mahiki is simply one of the best places to do it. Drawing its inspiration from the sunsoaked shores of Tahiti, Mahiki manages to effortlessly fuse fun and exclusivity and provides an amazing atmosphere for festivity and socialising. Drawing a steady stream of celebrities, royals and otherwise high-powered people looking for a temporary holiday in the sun, Mahiki features handmade chairs and cushions, hand-carved tiki figures and Polynesian drinks aplenty. The club has grown to such a magnificent stature that it even has its own line of rum which figures heavily into their delicious updates of tropical classics (for instance, pina coladas served in pineapples or their ever potent Zombie). In 2011 they opened a No-Tell Motel Room complete with plenty of neon, a double bed, a kitschy kitchen and lounge and a Lucky Voice karaoke area. If your stomach is growling and you’re in the mood for some sustenance without a little pink umbrella, nibble on delicacies like Canadian Lobster Nachos or the New England Lobster Roll. If you’re angling to meet a famous face on an evening out, Mahiki is probably one of your best options, yet somehow it manages to avoid the snobbery found in other uber-exclusive haunts.
